We have a team of highly trained specialist nurses, each with a clinical lead in a Chronic Disease or specialist area. Fully trained in Asthma, COPD, Diabetes, Cardiac Care and specialised Sexual Health services the team also deal routinely with a broad area of Minor Illness. They also provide services to patients daily within our treatment rooms for dressing, wound, injections and other routine care.

Healthcare assistants support practice nurses with their daily work and carry out tasks such as phlebotomy (drawing blood), blood pressure measurement and new patient checks. They may act as a chaperone when a patient or doctor requests one.

Our practice management team are generally available during normal office hours. The team is responsible for the day-to-day running of the practice. Do not hesitate to contact any member of the team if you have any matter that you wish brought to the attention of the practice. The practice is happy to hear your views and suggestions about the service offered by the practice.

Receptionists provide an important link for patients with the practice and are your initial contact point for general enquiries. They can provide basic information on services and results and direct you to the right person depending on your health issue or query. Receptionists make most of the patient appointments with the GPs and nurses. They also perform other important tasks such as issuing repeat prescriptions and dealing with prescription enquiries, dealing with financial claims, dealing with patient records and carrying out searches and practice audits.

They are responsible for all correspondence, liaising between doctors, patients and other outside agencies.

If you have recently discovered you are pregnant you will need a midwife to contact you.

To do this please ring the main surgery telephone number (01554 779890) and ask for your details to be left for the midwife to contact you.

Your initial “Booking In” appointment will then be arranged with the midwife and this is held at your home.

Subsequent ante-natal appointments here at the surgery are within our Midwife Clinic which is held weekly on Friday mornings. These appointments can be made via your midwife or by a receptionist.

If you require a Flu and/or Pertussis vaccination this is done at the practice when you attend for your ante-natal clinic appointments.
