Appointments

How We Operate

Llwynhendy Health Centre has recently reviewed its appointment system and due to the number of patients not attending for pre-booked appointments and the overall increase in demand, patients requiring a GP appointment are now asked to complete an eConsult or alternatively ring in on the day they wish to be seen. This is the same procedure for both routine and urgent appointments.

eConsult

eConsult is an online questionnaire that provides self-help advice and/or submits an electronic form to the GP Practice to avoid contacting via telephone or in person.  The eConsult is allocated appropriately within the Practice and the patient is provided with a response via text and/or email to inform them of when they will receive a response from a clinician if necessary. If an appointment is required the patient will be informed via text and/or email. Administration queries can also be dealt with such as sick paper requests and test results.

Our Minor Illness appointments are also still available each day both morning and afternoon with our nurses, please see Minor Illness Clinic information page.

Patients who arrive at reception without an appointment or late may not be seen.

Telephone Consultations

If you wish to speak to your doctor, but may not necessarily need an appointment, a telephone call may suffice. The doctors would normally prefer the receptionist to take a message and then contact you later usually on the same day. If you wish to leave a message for your GP please ring between 9.30am and 12.30pm or 2.00pm and 3.30pm. It is important to inform the receptionist as to the nature of your call as this will help us to deal with your enquiry.

Cancellations

If you cannot attend an appointment for any reason please inform us as soon as possible in order for us to give the slot to someone else.
