Repeat Prescriptions

Requests for repeat medication can be made by returning the prescription counterfoil or a written request to the practice.

Please allow 48 hours (excluding weekends and Bank Holidays) to action your prescription.

If you wish your prescription returned by post, please enclose a stamped addressed envelope.

Chemists can also arrange collection and delivery of your prescription drugs, please contact them directly.

Prescriptions have to be carefully prepared, but normally:

Repeat prescriptions are not written over the weekend. If you need your prescription on  Monday, please ask for it by 10.30am Friday.

The practice does not take requests for repeat prescriptions over the telephone.

You should never leave it until your medication runs out before re-ordering your prescription.

You will observe from the times above that the practice is working to a 24 hour turnover for prescriptions. However due to increase to our patient list size and the volume of requests the practice may have to extend this to 48 hours turnover at times of exceptional demand.  In order to achieve this target, we can no longer answer patients' queries on whether a prescription is ready for pick up. We ask for patients' help in this matter.

My Health Online

You may also wish to sign up to My Health Online. It is an online service where you can order repeat prescription. Please see My Health Online information page.

Medication Reviews

Patients on repeat medication will be asked to see a doctor, nurse practitioner or practice nurse at least once a year to review these regular medications and notification should appear on your repeat slip.

Please ensure that you book an appropriate appointment to avoid unnecessary delays to further prescriptions.
